Current Opportunities
Current postdoctoral, PhD, and visiting researcher opportunities in Y-Matter Lab.
Postdoctoral Researcher in AI-assisted atomistic modelling of ferroic materials
The offered position is a postdoctoral research appointment at the Aragon Nanoscience and Materials Institute (INMA, CSIC–University of Zaragoza), Spain, under the supervision of CSIC tenured scientist Dr. Yue-Wen Fang. The successful candidate will conduct first-principles calculations and develop advanced computational approaches combining DFT and machine learning to investigate ferroic materials, with particular emphasis on lattice dynamics and phase transitions of ferroelectrics. Opportunities for collaboration with experimental groups will also be available.
Funding: This position is funded by the Excelencia Severo Ochoa project CEX2023-001286S.
Expected qualifications and skills
Required
- A PhD in Condensed Matter Physics, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
- A strong background in ab initio calculations of electronic and phonon properties.
Desirable
- Knowledge of ferroelectricity, anharmonic lattice dynamics, and nuclear quantum effects.
- Experience with machine-learning techniques, databases, and Python-based workflows.
How to apply
Applicants should submit the following documents to Dr. Yue-Wen Fang (yuewen.fang@csic.es):
- Curriculum Vitae (CV), including a photo, research/education background, and a full publication list. Please highlight up to three of your most representative publications, briefly describing your contribution to each.
- Cover Letter (maximum 1 page), briefly describing your research background, interests, and motivation for applying.
- Contact details of two referees.
